Driggs revived me with a schokoladenbrot (March 3, 2020)

coucou c'est moi elder bélanger,

This week was quite the adventure. Wednesday was the transfer and it flippin snowed in liège. Miracles still happen... we had a really fun english class. I created a basket full of verbs and we had to act out the verb for everyone else to guess. I had dancing so I busted out a version of the napoleon dynamite dance for the class. It was super fun.

The next day we had planning, I had a mission leader training, and we taught a new ami named Désiré. He is from congo and is pretty cool. He lives out in huy halfway between us and namur. So it was about an hour bus ride that I fell asleep on and woke up to the panicked cries of elder driggs to get off the bus. To which I bolted out the open door and into the rain.  The lesson went well and he really liked the book of mormon and the message of the restoration.

Friday is where the title comes from... we had a full day planned and all of our rendezvous' cancelled. Leaving us with an empty schedule and lots of time. We decided that we would go hit some of the farther less active points on the map. So we hopped on a train and headed to eupen. Which is in the german part of belgium. We knocked on one of the members doors and someone answered the door cursed at us in german and then we walked to the next house. During the walk my blood sugar dropped incredibly low, and my energy level plummeted. So elder driggs ran into a nearby carrefour and got me a schokoladenbrot and we continued on our merry way. We ended the night getting lost in this town where we couldn't communicate with anyone when my phone died... we did make it home on time it just was very very dramatic...

We had a service project move on Saturday morning. It was probably one of the most horrifying places I have ever seen and had to clean but we will move on to the blessings of doing it. Afterwards the member who gave us a ride there and back again asked if we would go visit and help felix a returning member build some cabinets. We said yes and it was wonderful we built his cabinets with this member and felix then we taught a little lesson. It was a wonderful experience and completely unplanned.

Sunday was a great sunday and we had 7 people with us at church. Katie came up to us and fixed a baptismal date with us and so we are planning her baptism and finishing the lessons with her. Things are moving along here in liege and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to serve here.

Well that is it :)
