Oh Captain! My Captain!
It was a pretty awesome week. Exchanges with Elder (Captain) Nelson, The "Larp"ers came to town ("Live Action Role Play"ers), I spoke some pretty lit spanish. I honestly could just write about the exchange though it was probably the most fun I have had on my mission. legitimately an epistle about that exchange. I took a nap on a mountain, then I contacted some people from Venezuela just in spanish, tried talking to them in french then they were like "no habla Francais". and then I went of in spanish. Gift of tongues.
the one sucky part about this week is that I have been woken up every morning by the noise of street sweeper trucks going by at 5 in the morning because I sleep with the windows open due to the nice temperature outside. so at 5 I am sprinting off the top bunk to close the windows before my comp wakes up from his hibernation.
To explain the title, We have an inside joke in our district. Last transfer on district P-day. we were playing cards and Elder Payne (Elder Nelson's trainer) is explaining the rules to one of the games. Sœur Doughman is just super happy all the time and just a 10 on the energy scale, and responds " AYE AYE CAPTAIN". Elder Payne looks her dead in the eyes and says " I like that you should call me that more often" (He wasn't flirting but it was such an uncomfortable situation for all of us, so we made fun of it for the rest of the transfer and now continuing into this transfer. So We all refer to each other as Captain now. Captain Elder Nelson, Captain Sœur Doughman, but you know only the OG Liège District People.
Captain Elder Nelson and I had our Exchange this week and it was so fun. Just a whole bunch of fun productive missionary work. We get along so well, and we play off each other. contacting is super fun. I got to go to JA (young adults) Soirée and meet all the JA. they are all so great and the Newberry's have been balling out making it the sucessful program that it is in Liège. We played games and met with all the JA ( members and nonmembers). We played Loup-Garou (werewolf) and I had everyone laughing when I started saying "Sacrifice, Sacrifice, sacrifice" when we voted off one of the members. It was so much fun!
The "Larp"ers came to town, on saturday. We had the Namur Folklore day and all the Larpers came out with their swords shields maces and chainmail. It was really fun, I got some ice cream and enjoyed the sun.
We got to do a temple tour with the Silizar family this week and it was awesome! I love the temple and the blessings that we can receive from the temple! I also am grateful that someone at the temple speaks spanish because my spanish is very limited. They are so cool and the best amis. I made them a plan of salvation puzzle, eduardo (the son) put the whole thing together by himself and explained it to me in french. It was so cool!
that is about all my week was,
