a magician, some hobbits, pugs, and champions (February 11, 2020)

Salut c'est moi ab,

This week was good. We were sick. We taught 3 lessons from our beds on the phone. And spent the day sending out texts and calls to everyone in our contacts we found a lot of potentials.

This past week i earned the title of magician while visiting our 95 y/o member mamie. Simple deception tricks win the hearts of members.

We discussed our grand adventure (elder uchtdorf's talk) in elders quorum and plastered the wall with all sorts of posters of hobbits and dwarves and dragons. Which according to the bishop was a stark contrast to the sisters who had pictures of Jesus. Well shoot...

We have this super cool self referal who we started teaching this week. He has a pug. And it reminds me of padfoot. Padfoot if you are reading this. I love you. Only 7 more months. Also I am proud of you but using your spare time to learn how to read english.

So during my mission i have always asked myself. How can I work better with active members and those who aren't quite as active. The best way is obviously an activity but it if takes place at the chapel then our not so active members won't come due to feelings of "not feeling welcome in the chapel" or worthy or a bunch of other reasons. So I member and I planned an activity that we were sure would get everyones attention. Laser tag!

In short we had like 10 people there half were not so active and the other were active. And we went and fought each other in a laser tag arena. Which then proceeded to create some pretty amazing relationships and then had all four decide to come to church on sunday and they all did.

Well that is all for me hope all is well at home.

Catch you later,

Frère Bélanger
