How is Namur? I wouldn't know (mine eyes have seen the Glory of the Netherlands)
So normally everyone asks, "How is Paris?"
"How is france?" And i respond. I wouldn't know I live in Belgium. This week. I can tell you that Paris is well.
We spent all week on exchanges and living out of Backpacks. We had the Neil L. Anderson Conference in Versailles.
It was really really cool to be able to back at my notes. Most of them are personally but I really liked one thing he said.
"The Lord has built a home in France. He will never retreat from France."
The Lord has built a Fortress of Faith in France. He will not leave the Saints here stranded. There will always be a covenant keeping righteous people in france and they have a home. A place to worship God and Keep their covenants.
It was cool to see Anderson and shake his hand and hear his testimony and Witness of Christ. I have made it a goal to always testify of Christ while contacting, porting, or meeting with members.
The rest of the time we were in Paris we hung out with Elder Bingham (roommate from the MTC) and Elder Peel his trainer (Elder Purdy's MTC comp). It was cool to go on exchanges with Elder Bingham and to see the growth and how much we could speak to the family we were eating dinner with. It wasn't perfect but we did a really good job and we were both surprised.
We also went on exchanges with the Liège Elders and that was super fun. Elder Nelson is super cool and Elder Payne (Nelson's Trainer) is a nice dude. It is so nice to have Elders in Liège and to get to go explore a new ville.
We had district P-day and so we went Caving in the liège sector. We took a bus out to the middle of nowhere and then hiked way out. We found some cool caves and saw a couple fields fenced off for ACTIVE LAND MINES (C'EST LUMIÈRE). We also almost walked out of our mission and into the Netherlands. So like lit. The Netherlands looks like what you would expect with the large tree lined canals.
I spoke in Sacrament again this week and shared about my experience taking on the challenge of Elder Dyches, to "read the book of mormon each day." How that helped me in my life before the mission and I challenged the ward to have a perfect February. Reading from the book of mormon each day. I created a calendar with short passages so that they could have something to read that would be meaningful than just restarting the book of mormon. So i invite you to do the same. Read the Book Of Mormon EACH DAY in February. I can't tell you how important that it is to read each day. Even just a verse. My life didn't get easier when I did this but I understood how to deal with the challenges. I know the book of mormon helps us overcome the world and the challenges in it.
Je vous aime,
