MTV: Bienvenue à ma crib
This week was pretty cool! I built a Ghetto doghouse for one of our members ( I built it in the manner she wanted me to, I promise my standards are higher for where "man's best friend" will reside and live). Elder Purdy and I also put up a fence in the same back yard so the same bear dog will stop jumping over the fence and "eating the neighbor" (note: this is a direct translation from what the member said... the dog ate the neighbor... I don't understand why I just question if they are feeding the dog enough if it is willing to jump the fence and eat their neighbor). A dog has never gotten treated better by missionaries, A new ghetto doghouse and a fence to keep it from eating human beings...
Side note: the members loved the doghouse... they adored it, I have never seen people happier with a Macgyver type contraption of bricks and various other trash materials I found in their new backyard.
We also had exchanges with the Zone Leaders and the Liège Boys.
While on exchanges in Liège we went out to the Maison du Legend. Her name is "Mami" she has been teaching Missionaries to make Liège Gauffres. We crammed 6 missionaries in Mami's apartment which has the same amount of square footage as a Honda Civic. She has a huge chair in the middle of the apartment that you have to maneuver around. After we all made the dough, she wanted all of us to sit and listen to here tell stories while the Liège Elders cooked the Gauffres. The Gauffres were literally one of the best things on the planet.
Sunday at our Mangez-vous with the Lambé's and the Marez's, our main man Rudy went out to their pool house and grabbed everyone beer, you know the way us members do. (In Europe they have a lot of beer and wine with 0% alcohol content) So you know, as a missionary you just crack open a cold one with the current bishop, and the last bishop and you don't think much about it. You can't tell me that when bishop just hands you a Heineken you question that... After about halfway done with the bottle, I look down to see "moins de 1% alc. vol." (less than one percent alcohol volume) so like that's cool, less than 1% is still alcohol...
but on another note BEER IS NASTY... It tastes worse than it smells. I can also assure you that I am not drinking that again...
I started to read the book of mormon again for personal study, It is really good. I have been following the challenge found in Preach My Gospel and Given by President Sorensen to us on our first day in the mission home. It is very interesting to see how much and how often the Lord is actually speaking in The Book of Mormon. I have been using the "Study tools" tool on Gospel Library to help me keep track of my reading and it has been really helpful. I should finish it by the end of this Month.
