shaved head. hit and run. holy hail it has been a long week

Well to sum up this week, I got really sick, then shaved my head, I made an eternal enemy, we have kind of built a missionary culture (where people drive by and honk, c'est toujours lumière) we worked on the garage for one of less active members, it hailed, and we watched a hit and run from our apartment.

On shaving my head all I have to do is quote Paul Klein to explain myself, so "dang I've snapped". We started to shave it with the pair of clippers in the apartment. and we just went for it. but then after cutting the sides off and having this long afro mohawk, the battery powered clippers died. but then we had to go to a rendezvous with an old ami, so I rocked the sickest fro mohawk you have ever seen on a missionary for 4 hours before we finally were able to get new clippers from the store.

During that adventure while walking to the bus stop and stopping to get some lunch, some children were playing soccer in an alley. This kid lost control and the ball came to my feet as he ran up to get the ball, I put it through his legs to one of his buddies and HE WAS ABSOLUTELY FUMING. I have never gotten a dirtier look in my life. After we came out of the restaurant he just stared me down. No more foot I guess.

While waiting for a bus one day, we were standing outside the apartment and a little green Volkswagen polo drives by honking at us. IT WAS MICHAËL. The chez gaby guy. So now we have people honking at us, like in America

The garage is coming together nicely, we put on the rest of the half roof this past week and we are hopefully going to finish sometime this week.

We had a wild sunday afternoon, while I was doing the dishes, it started to rain (like it does in belgium, sun is out, rain is out). All of a sudden it starts to get reallyREALLY loud. i look out to see about cocoa pebbles sized hail hitting the roof. It does that for about 4 minutes before changing into cocoa puff sized another 4 minutes of that before nearly tripling in size to a grape and pelting our tin roof (we live on the top floor of our building and the roof is metal) it was very very very loud. then after 2 minutes of that, it completely stopped. and was relatively sunny the rest of the day.

While doing studies on sunday, we heard tires screech outside and then a huge crash, we looked out the window to see a car backed into the railing on the bridge outside the apartment and his front bumper off. The guy ran away then decided to walk back grab something from the passenger side door, then run to the city of Jambes, across the river. we didn't see the other car but we saw a hole in the railing on the bridge so like that is always possible...

That is pretty much all that happened during my crazy week.

je vous aime,
