AMIENS. the biggest little ville that no one has ever served in
Well the week of Elder Funds return home has come. I am sad to see him go. It has been so much fun in Amiens with Elder Fund. I said in an earlier email that Elder Fund and I were the only missionaries in the mission to serve in amiens. However with Elder Fund leaving in the middle of a transfer, I am being transferred to Valencienne for two weeks and then will return to Amiens with a new companion. I will be the ONLY missionary in the ENTIRE mission who has served in Amiens.
My new companions, Elder Canez and Elder Poulsen seem cool. I am excited to go up there and help out in the ward up there.
All is well in Amiens, other than the fact that there won't be missionaries in the branch for two weeks. Thomas our ami has been doing really well. He has been coming to church frequently and has made goals to prepare himself for baptism. We haven't been able to set a date with him, but it feels like we are close. unfortunately we won't see him for close to a month because as soon as I return to amiens, they will leave on vacation to bali. so I have to be really good about sending him stuff to read and keeping in contact while serving up in Valencienne.
I don't really know what to write about this week. it was relax, we ate pizza with Thomas and Lula. Pizza here is like 400x "hearty"ier here. It is just heavy and rich with flavor. They put kebab meat on Pizza, huge slices of sausage, cover the entire top of the pizza with ground beef, it just is heavy. they tricked me into eating "cheese pizza". it was actually fruit de la mer. it was cheese pizza with sliced tomato on top (not the bad part) and then a layer of salmon between the cheese and the crust. literally killed my appetite, then everyone ganged up on me for not being able to eat any more pizza... I am not mad, just disappointed.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
